NFL Giants Wide Receiver Plaxico Burress
Miracles happen everyday and sometimes they are greater than you would ever anticipate! Tuesday prior to Thanksgiving we had the privilegeof helping Plaxico Burress distribute turkeys and hams in Twin Canal. When we received the call from the rental office that Plaxico wanted to give back to his former community and needed a team of volunteers to assist him, we were so excited to jump on board!
Monday
Plaxico arrived on Monday evening and came directly to the Outreach Center where we were able to share with him how God has been changing Twin Canal over the past 5 years. He was touched by the passion and excellence of the step team and their prayers for him and his family.

Turkeys and Hams
Plaxico arrived at Twin Canal at 2:00 p.m. and spent over two hours talking to residents, taking pictures, signing autographs, holding babies, and just sharing his desire for children to follow their dreams.
Almost all of the 400 turkeys and 300 hams were distributed in Twin Canal, but the few that remained were taken to a homeless shelter where Plaxico once again blessed the people with his generous gift and his gentle spirit.

Plaxico & United In Him
Paxico was like an angel from heaven to us. It touched our hearts so much that he would take the time to come to the Outreach Center to see the kids & ministry and just hang out with them. His words were so powerful as he told the girls to follow their dreams and to never give up. His willingness to listen to their stories truly meant more to us than words can express.
Plaxico became like family to us in such a short time. He has a truly humble spirit and honestly cares about the children. Before he left he gave the ministry $6,000 and said he would love to endorse UIH. We are so thankful for how God moves in the hearts of men and connects us with the right people at the right time!
